10 Fiesta pictures

Since Fiesta just tied up in April I thought I would share 10 photos from Fiesta 2010 (which I just recently found as I was printing photos from Fiesta 2012.) I think all these picture are from the  King William event. Fiesta is the name for one large event. Essentially two weeks of parties. There are many events/parties going on each day and you can pick and choose which ones you want to go to or even go too many in one day! (: You can read more about Fiesta by clicking on the word"fiesta" in the first sentence at the top of this blog entry. Viva Fiesta!

You need to have dramatic hats at Fiesta

This guy pulled my sister off the street to do her hair.  She has beautiful Rapunzel hair.

People also like to dress up their dogs. There is a parade before King William of pretty pooches.

This is me with a cut out of the Dos Equis guy. I love this guy and all the ads with him in them. Yes, I have Dos Equis in my hand.

Funnel cake is a must have at any Fiesta event

Fancy dressed up ladies. Not sure where they are going or coming from. Then again it's Fiesta, so they may just dress up just because.

This man has awesome flowers on his hat. Both men and women get into the fancy hats

These guys have skeletons on their hats. These hats are super awesome and probably quite heavy. The guys are rockin' this look.

King William is a street/housing area that the fiesta is held on. It's just as fun to see the houses. I thought this one was pretty.

A Week in the Life: Sunday

Here is the final day of Week in the Life:

After coffee I decided to put togethter the glider. It was rather dramatic and Sam had to help at different points. I am super excited about it and the wood matches perfectly in the nursery.

Sam made compost cookies! These are the best cookies in the world! They are full of crazy ingredients which makes them oh, so good. The recipe is from the Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook. If you are ever in NYC go there!

This was my lunch; fish and salad

I scrapped a page about the royal wedding

This is a house on our street that is decorated for Fiesta. I was taking the picture as I was driving. Hence the fog effect.

A week in the Life: Fiesta Sat.

Continuing a Week in the Life...
So from 10:30 ish to 3:00ish Johanna and I went to the King Williams Fiesta event. It was awesome. We ate, laughed and bought things. Fiesta is essentially a two week party that started out as an event to honor folks at San Jacinto and evolved into awesome. It was super fun and I love the spirit, crazy fun and costumes that go along with it every year. Here are pics of Fiesta Fun:

As we were riding the bus downtown, we saw this sweet dog ready for Fiesta. There is a dog parade early in the morning, so at this event there is always a lot of cute dogs walking amongst the people.

All dressed up and ready to go. I am sure there was some event she was part of or just finished up with an event. She could be dressed up because she is a kid and wanted to be. Hugs!

Each event has their own medal and people collect them throughout the years. I have the UTSA ones from 2001 forward. People like to display them on sashes, much like this lady here. Woah! She has a lot of medals.

These great danes were awesome! So is this ladies shirt and flower headdress. I remember getting the headdresses at events when I was little. Okay, when I was big, too. All events in SA seem to have the headdresses because they are awesome!

Yea, for raspas! Johanna and I knew it was our destiny to have one and we found them right before we headed home.

People, how can you not love this dog?! Princessa? and awesome!

After the fiesta event Sam and I had movie night. This is a pic of the theatre at night. We saw Cabin in the Woods and yes it was good. Two words Joss Weddon!

A Week in the Life: TGIF

Long story short, my router died and we had no internet over the weekend. OMG! I had to read books! (sarcasm.) Friday I somehow flaked completely on pictures. Did not take breakfast of lunch pictures and saw students all day. After work the fam went to get paletas at Paraiso. It was awesome good! So here is my Friday for A Week in the Life...a little late.

Mom and my sister enjoy paletas
